One of the most interesting figures in Polish ultracycling associated with Race Around Poland is this year's participant in the RAP Challenge 300 - @ultradietetyk Damian Pazikowski. Don't be fooled by his relatively short cycling experience: he only got on two wheels six years ago, and became interested in ultra distances in 2020, and the planned distance! Damian is a true champion who broke into the national top and has been aiming for the highest goals from the very beginning. He has many victories to his credit, mainly in races of up to 1,000 kilometres. Of the nine ultramarathons he has taken part in, he has won seven!
His greatest achievements to date include:
Over the last 2 years, Damian has found his segment in ultra and it is the 24 hour ride. His goal for 2023, in addition to taking part in the RAP300, is to break Christopher Strasser's incredible WUCA world record for a 24-hour ride of 1026km! Accomplishing this feat, scheduled for the first half of August this year, will secure Damian a permanent place in endurance sports history and, watching Damian progress, we believe he is capable of achieving it!
It will be a great year and a real celebration for Polish ultracycling fans, and an incredibly exciting August 2023! The first Ultracycling World Championships and the battle for the world record in the 24-hour ride will soon fire the imagination of fans and supporters of the sport, and the growing number of people practising this demanding discipline.
We also have additional great news for all those interested! Damian will also be organising preparation rides for the RAP300, we encourage you to participate. https://fb.me/e/Lkze0AgV
