RACE AROUND POLAND - DAY 11

A downpour passed through Podlasie and Mazowsze during the night, so John Gwite (IND) slightly delayed reaching the finish line. He spent the night at the bus stop. Eventually he finished in 5th position in the M50-.

Maria Łuszczek (POL), who had her knee stitched in hospital yesterday, unfortunately had to withdraw after a night spent in Narewka. The condition of her knee did not allow her to continue riding.

Katarzyna Dąbrowicz (POL) is also having problems, but she is still fighting and is on track for 2nd place among women

In the meantime, the last competitors were crossing Mazury. Krzysztof Florczak (POL) was also soaked by a short but intense rain. Tired, he reached TS 10 Hotelik Gołdap, ate and went to sleep.

Similarly - Tilo Arnhold (DEU). He, as the last one to leave from TS 9 Hymer Center Pomorze, had to ride 400 km in 24 hours. The poor quality of the bike paths before Gołdap made it difficult.

The checkpoint at Hotelik Gołdap turned out to be an ideal oasis for a rest. Therefore, Krzysztof set off only at 4 p.m. and Niemiec at 5 p.m.

After Gołdap, 30 km of roadworks with shuttles took their toll on the cyclists. However, smooth asphalt and beautiful views followed.

Not only the Race Around Poland cyclists traveled through Masuria. The GumBalkan vintage car rally was held in this area. At the tower in Stańczyki we also met a bike traveler who was also riding around Poland, but he gave himself a bit more than the Race Around Poland limit, i.e. 1.5 months.

The further south you go, the flatter it gets. There is little availability of shops at night. 0 19-20 restaurants and bars are closed, and petrol stations are closed at 22. Only a few are open 24/7. A good option for the evening was the Pizzeria in Wiżajny.

Competitors from the middle of the pack are also moving forward consistently. Stanislav Růžička (CZE) had a problem with the support, but managed to make a temporary repair and is still going.

Bogdan Wicher (POL) had a tracker failure and from Hajnówka we only had contact with him by phone - he was not visible on the map. He finally finished 6th in M50-

Karol Pięta (POL) finished 5th in M50+ and after him Maciej Sala (POL) - 7th in M50-.

At 20:15 Robert Woźniak (POL) (6th in M50+) reported at the finish line, who did it for the fifth time and is the only competitor to have finished all editions of RAP on the crown distance.

There is still 1 female and 10 male competitors on the route

We invite you to greet the cyclists at the finish line in Obóki or Royal Wilanów (30 minutes later)
