Lisa Brömmel (DEU) (Cycle Café) became the World Ultra-Cycling Organization (WUCA) Unsupported Ultra-Cycling World Champion, covering the distance of 3568km in 219h 54m 53s. This result is better than the previous record of the Race Around Poland route in this category by over 8 hours. The previous record of Aneta Lamik from 2024 was 228h 12m 29s.
A few hours earlier, Piotr Mos (ITA) (BHOSS KING BIKE EMPOLI) also reached the finish line, becoming the World Champion in the M50+ category, covering the RAP route in 211h 29m 31s. This result is better than the previous record of the Race Around Poland route in this category by over 2 hours. The previous record of Andrzej Tercjak from 2023 was 213h 56m 50s.
Witold Kania also reached the finish line, taking second place in the M50+ category, and Jarosław Kędziorek - fourth in the M50-
An interesting competition took place for 3rd place in the M50+ category. Grzegorz Oszast crossed the finish line in Obórki, and Andrzej Tercjak shortly after him. However, Grzegorz started over an hour later than Andrzej. It seemed obvious that Grzegorz would reach the podium. However, after verifying the track, it turned out that while Andrzej rode the route flawlessly, Grzegorz skipped 10 kilometers of the section from Nowy Dwór Gdański to Jazowa. This mistake is punishable by a 100-minute penalty. However, this did not change the position and as a result, Grzegorz overtook Andrzej by 28 minutes.
John Gwite (IND) has 150 km to the finish line, who seems to be 5th in the M50- category
Maria Łuszczek (POL), fighting for the second position among women, suffered a knee injury after a fall on the bike path. The competitor was treated in the hospital in Białystok and returned to the route. She is currently resting at CP 11 in Narewka.
Krzysztof Florczak (POL) is fighting to stay within the time limit on the longest section from TS9 to TS10, having 12 hours to cover 181 km (required average speed of 15 km/h). This seems realistic, unless Krzysztof has to take a break for sleep.
Tilo Arnhold (DEU) is in a slightly worse situation. Tilo has a similar time to Krzysztof, but there are 206 km to cover (required average speed of 17 km/h)
We invite you to greet the cyclists at the finish line in Obóki or Royal Wilanów (30 minutes later)
