Belgian Maximilien Maxi Couvreur representing the ST Cycling Delta-T Sports team took third place in the 3600km Race Aroudn Poland ultra-cycling world championship. His time was 199:15:41
The ninth day of competition was calm. We have information about Kemal Erdem (POL). After receiving help in the hospital in Giżycko, Kemal went to Wrocław, where he lives. He has a damaged shoulder, which has been immobilized. He will have diagnostics for further treatment.
John Gwite (IND), who was struggling with the effects of sleep deprivation, rested for 12 hours at PK9 Hymer Center Pomorze in Kębłowo. Then he set off on the route to PK 10 Hotelik Gołdap. He arrived there yesterday (July 6) at 9 pm and after a 3-hour rest, he set off again.
The rest of the group are Krzysztof Florczak (POL) and Tilo Arnhold (DEU). The former arrived at night and is resting at CP 9 in Kębłowo, while the latter is currently arriving there. The time limits for CP 9 for these competitors are 11:21 and 11:24, respectively, so they have a lot of margin. However, this is not a 100% safe situation, because there are almost 400 km between the next points (the longest distance between points in RAP), and the time to cover this distance is 24 hours.
Piotr Mos has just reached the finish line in Obórki, winning the World Champion jersey in the solo unsupported M50+ category. Piotr comes from Poland and lives in Italy. He represents the BHOSS KING BIKE EMPOLI club. His time is 211:29:31 and is over 2 hours better than the previous record in this age category set by Andrzej Tercjak in 2023.
Witold Kania (POL) is fighting for second place in this category, with 120 kilometers to go.
The last championship jersey, in the women's 50- category, awaits Lisa Brömmel (DEU), who has 150 km left.
We invite you to greet the cyclists at the finish line in Obórki or Royal Wilanów (30 minutes later)
