We invite you to the evening report from Race Around Poland
Krzysztof Niemczyn is withdrawing due to a wheel failure and a small reserve of time to repair it and make it to the limit at CP5. Especially since he feels cold. His "achievement" this year is CP4, which is 2 segments further than in last year's start, where the limit caught up with him before Czorsztyn. Krzysiek has already announced that he will return to the RAP routes in 2026.
The winner of the 1/2 RAP 1800km was Andrii Goncharov (UKR), who completed the route from Warsaw to Grudza in 102:20:56. Adam Szczygieł is currently in second place, with 50km left to the finish line.
Therefore, we have 32 competitors on the route. The weather was taking its toll on the cyclists today. The temperature during the day exceeded 30 degrees Celsius. The demand for fluids was huge. Fortunately, no one reported any health problems related to the heat today.
The "peloton" stretches for almost 1000 km. The leader Stefano Semenzato (ITA) (who was the only one left in the 3600 solo supported category) is now at 2300 km and is approaching Kołobrzeg. Tilo Arnhold (DEU), who is closing the pack, decided to spend the night in Cieszyn at 1330 km.
The status of the fight for the World Championship jerseys (3600km solo unsupported) is as follows:
M50- Cezary Wójcik is at 2230 km, Kemal Erdem (160 km behind, has been decreasing by 20 km since morning)
At the halfway point, Czarek is 11 minutes slower than Kuba's result from last year. In the morning he was 3 hours faster and it seemed that the chance for the record was growing, but now the probability has decreased slightly.
M50+ Piotr Mos reached 1900, while Ingolf Micklisch is 80km behind him. So the loss from the morning has been maintained. In reality, this may mean that Ingolf is gaining a bit, because 80km in the mountains is more than 80km on the flat, and now the cyclists have entered such terrain.
F50- Lisa Brömmel has already reached 1930, Maria Łuszczek is 250km behind her
